Hello, my name is Lissette Flores. My journey with Aglow began in 2022 when my spiritual mother introduced me to the Milwaukee "Genesis" Community Lighthouse. From the moment I drove onto the Divine Shepherd parking lot, I could feel the presence of God. As I stepped through the doors, the Holy Spirit was tangible, and I immediately felt at home in the warmth and love of everyone there.
Although my full-time job kept me from attending regularly, I was blessed to participate in the GameChangers study led by Marlene Paprocki. Let me tell you—it was revolutionary! I highly recommend GameChangers or LifeChangers as powerful tools to deepen your walk with God.
In 2023, I was unexpectedly let go from my job, but what seemed like a loss turned out to be a divine blessing. I had been stretched too thin, on the verge of burnout, but God—whose ways are always higher than ours—made a way. I reconnected with the Aglow WI South Area Team Leaders and was once again met with the same warmth and love.
As 2024 unfolded and I was offered a new job, I asked Marlene if there were any plans for a Lighthouse that could support working women and men, knowing firsthand the struggles of balancing faith and daily responsibilities. On September 14th—my birthday—we prayed and sought God’s direction. By His leading, I opened my home for the first Saturday Lighthouse meeting on October 5, 2024, expecting to be in the background as God raised up new leaders.
And He did raise up new leaders—though I wasn’t expecting to be one of them! As Cheryl Sanders so fittingly put it, we can add "Jehovah Sneaky" to God’s list of names! Alongside my beautiful sister Lori Reesman, I am honored to co-lead the Greenfield "New Life" Neighborhood Lighthouse. God placed the name "New Life" on Lori’s heart, and the moment I heard it, I knew it was from the Lord. In so many ways, this is a "New Life" for both of us, and we pray it will be for you as well.
